Music Academies

Following the two editions of this programme which registered a laudatory affluence of the public and an enthusiastic adhesion of schools (almost 2.000 students) the third series of conference –concerts of the SVC young peoples’ cycle recommences with the organisation of Società Veneziana Concerti in collaboration with the La Fenice Theatre in the prestigious setting of the Sala Apollinee. In keeping with the communicative nature of the cycle which depends on the high artistic level of young interpreters, we have confidently decided to address the conference-concerto to primary and secondary students of the schools of Venice city and hinterland. The programme consists of two morning sessions at 9.30 am and 11.00 am. The possibility of participating in the two sessions is extended to Institutions outside the Province and to an adult public. Entrance is as always free of charge with obligatory reservation up to the availability of seats.

As is now customary the speaker of the conference is Alessandro Zattarin who elicited much enthusiasm in the past editions of this cycle with his witty and profound guide to the art of listening. After having become acquainted with the young interpreters  from the Musikakademie di Basle and from the Conservatories of Venice this year’s edition proposes a panorama covering some of the principal Italian Academies of music, ranging from the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome to the “Stauffer” of Cremona, the Music School of Fiesole and the Academies of Duino and Portoguaro which together represent the excellence of young concert artists of Italy. The cycle will not be limited solely to chamber music in the classical sense but will include in the final session an incursion into the world of jazz.

We are proud to propose this new edition of the cycle ‘SVC for the younger generation’ in the hope of maintaining  the interest of the young in the art of music and thereby absolving, in so far as possible, an indispensible moral and ethical duty.
